About

I’m Professor of Menswear Systems at the University of Westminster and Director of the Westminster Menswear Archive, the world’s only publicly accessible menswear archive.

My work examines menswear as a system: how garments organise bodies, signal authority, regulate behaviour, circulate through culture, and accumulate meaning through use.

I work across academic research, curatorial practice, and industry consultancy, specialising in menswear, material culture, subcultural dress, archives, uniforms, workwear, technical clothing, and performance-led design.

I’ve curated landmark exhibitions including Invisible Men, Umbro 100: Sportswear x Fashion, and The Vanishing Art of Camouflage, and have worked with brands including Alexander McQueen, C.P. Company, Fred Perry, and Massimo Osti Studio.

My consultancy is defined by depth, precision, and outcome, delivering strategic insight for brands, archives, and cultural institutions.

My writing on menswear systems can be read on Substack.
